Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Houston Masjid of Al-Islam and Mercy Community Center Southeast. We are glad that you have chosen to visit us and we welcome you to our merciful community. 2007 was an exciting year for us at the Houston Masjid of Al-Islam and 2008 looks to be just as exciting. Our “Putting the Neighbor Back in the Hood” program and our “Need to Feed” and "Guardian Project" programs have continued to grow and both have helped us help humanity.
We are currently developing a number of services and have plans to expand our services. The Houston Masjid of Al-Islam is planning a weekend school for children. We are developing the Qur’anic Studies Institute, the Shahadatain (orientation) Institute, the Salat (prayer) Institute, the Seerah (history of Muhammad the Prophet) and the Qur’anic Arabic institute. As our staff and community grow, additional programs will be implemented to meet the growing needs of the community.
In order for us to continue to offer quality services we need to relocate to a facility that will accommodate our needs. We have plans to build such a center that will stand as a tribute to over 40 years and three generations of services offered by our community through a number of organizations.
